Minoso Ray Warren was born on January 19, 1952, to the late Q. V. Chapman Sr. and Willie Rocker. He confessed Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 2. Later in life, he became a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church in Detroit, Michigan. After relocating back to Jackson, Alabama, he rededicated his life to Christ and joined New St.Matthews Missionary Baptist Church.
Ray graduated from Harper High School, Class of 1970. After high school, he met and married Cleo Fox, and the couple moved to Detroit Michigan.
From their union, they were blessed with one daughter, Latisha (Tisha). After becoming a father, Ray began working for Detroit Edison, where he built a long and dedicated career until his retirement. Ray was an avid sports fan and took great joy in caring for his family. After retirement, his granddaughter (Ruby) became his full-time priority. Ray and Cleo later returned to Jackson, Alabama to be closer to family and friends before his health began to decline.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and bonus dad. His life was centered around the love and support of his girls.
Ray was preceded in the death by his father, Q. V. Chapman Sr.; his mother, Willie Rocker; his adoptive parents, Arthur and LuBerta Warren; and two brothers, Lawrence Law and Q. V. Chapman Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Cleo Warren of Jackson, Al; his devoted daughter, Latisha (Decarlo) Neloms of Detroit, MI; and his cherished granddaughter and bonus daughter, Jordyn Walker, also of Detroit. He is also survived bt one loving sister, Rose (Eugene) Haynes, and one brother Timothy (Lonette) Chapman, both of Jackson, Al. Ray also leaves behind several devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.
