Mittie Lee "Nita" (Dubose) Grayson transitioned from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2020 while in Mobile, AL. She was born February 20, 1951 in Leroy, AL to Leartis and Leo Miller Dubose.
Mittie was educated in the Washington County School System and did custodial work in the local courthouse and her church, St. Union Baptist Church in Leroy, AL. She served the church in several capacities including Missionary Worker, Sunday School teacher, and decorations; as well as in her community as an election poll worker. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Leartis and Leo Dubose; two brothers, Dale Dubose and Leartis Dubose, Jr.; and a sister, Georgia Yelder.
Left to forever cherish her memories are her husband, Gilbert Grayson, St. Stephens, AL; two sons, Cassie Earl Howell, St. Stephens, AL and Anthony (Stelletta) Howell, Austell, GA; five daughters, Wanda (Brad) Sims, Jackson, AL, Jennifer Howell, Austell, GA, Sharon Howell, Birmingham, AL, April Howell, Lithia Springs, GA, and Kendra Rios, Mobile, AL; six sisters, Mary (L. E.) Fox, devoted-Luella (Willis) Collins, Jackie Dubose, and Stella Dubose all of Leroy, AL, Barbara Dubose, Waynesboro, MS, and Bridget (Stacy) Ferrell, McIntosh, AL; three brothers, Larry Dubose, Leroy, AL, James Dubose, Thomasville, AL, and Willie (Simeyon) Dubose, Ft. Hood, TX; nineteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Audrey Robinson and Rachel M. Nicholson; a brother-in-law, Hubert (Azaline) Grayson, Toddtown, AL; a sister-in-law, Betty (James) Williams, Wagarville, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Evelyn Moore, Willie Inez McConico, and Lillian Norwood Russell.
