Myra Elaine Taylor, better-known to family and friends as Elaine, a life-long resident of the Barlow Bend community, made her earthly transition on Feb. 16, 2023 while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile. She was born Sept. 18, 1961 to Susie Taylor and Leon Robinson.
Myra was a faithful member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Barlow Bend, where she served on the Usher Board. The church was rebuilt at a new location and renamed United Faith Baptist Church, where she continued to serve on the Usher Board.
Myra was a graduate of the Jackson High Class of 1981. She loved attending church, shopping, loving on her kids and serving as a babysitter and caregiver.
Preceding her in death were her parents and stepsister, Libby Williams.
Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Markelly and Shardae Taylor, both of Jackson; a sister, Lucille Taylor of Jackson; two god-children, Kirslee Ivory and Patrick Washington; three aunts, Mary Alice Mose of Barlow Bend, Christine Washington of Alma and Bennie Jo Dees of Manila; one uncle, Clarence (Callie) Robinson of Alma; a very close friend, William Earl Clarke; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
