Nathan Sashinger Obituary

Nathan Sashinger was born to the late Mr. Mallie Sashinger and Mrs. Mattie Sashinger on Oct. 5, 1938. He departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020 at his Frankville home. He was 82 years of age.

Nathan confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Frankville, where he served as a Sunday school teacher for seven years and as a trustee until his health failed.

He as united in holy matrimony to Artherine Sashinger on June 15, 1979 and the two were married for 36 years.

Nathan enjoyed watching sports, playing his guitar, hunting, fishing and being a member of the Frankville Hunting Club. He was loved by many because of his kind heart and generous soul. Employed by CIBA-GEIGY Corporation, currently BASF Corporation, as an operator for 54 years, he retired in June 2011. While employed, he was recognized for his special contribution towards quality improvement and received many safety awards.

Preceding him in death were his father, Mallie Sashinger; wife, Artherine Sashinger; and two sisters, Carrie Sashington and Lucille Sashington. 

Nathan leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mattie V. Sashington of Bigbee; four brothers, Marvin (Ann) Sashington of Bigbee, Marzet Sashington of Coffeeville, and Norman (Carolyn) Sashington and Earnest (Roberta) Sashington, both of Bladon Springs; four sisters, Ethel Robinson of Pensacola, Fla., Ada Herring of Bladon Springs, Martha (Wayne) Franks and Etta Sashington, both of Bigbee; children as his own, Jessie Payton, Jennet Merida, Arthur Koen and Robert Koen, all of Frankville, Carrie (Quincy) Dixon and Jonathan (Penny) White, both of Chicago, Ill., Betty (Ronnie) Boykin of Montgomery, Darlean (Casey) Taite of Grove Hill and Eddie (Frances) Koen of Madison; a grandson as his own, Brandon (Nicole) White of Jackson; one sister-in-law, Oletha White of Mobile; with a host of other grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
