Nathaniel Hughes, of the Rockville community, made his earthly on Oct. 17, 2024 while at Mobile Infirmary
Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1946 to Walter Hughes and Lou Ida Hughes. Nathaniel confessed Christ and
joined Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in the Rockville community where he remained until his illness.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Walter Hughes Jr., Calvin Hughes, West Hughes, Jesse Hughes
and McKinley Hughes; sisters, Mary Williams, Willie Lee Fountain, Martha Lee Williams, Lillie Hughes and
Velma Simon; sons, Alexander Hughes Sr., Jared Jackson Sr. and Glover Jackson; grandsons, Marquis Hughes and
Robert Lucas; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Jackson; and mother-in-law, Eveline Sims.
Nathaniel, leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Louise Hughes of Jackson; three daughters, Monica (Kelvin)
Chapman and Kathy (Chris) Mason of Jackson, and Alice Hughes of Calvert; seven sons, Nathaniel (Celeste)
Hughes Jr. of Axis, Andre (Michelle) Jones and Carlos (Shandra) Hughes, both of Calvert, Christopher (Kashana)
Hughes of Mt. Vernon, Jimmy (Linda) Jackson of Walker Springs, Frank Jackson and Charlie (Charlotte) Jackson,
both of Jackson; one brother, Spencer (Nixerine) Hughes of Springfield, Ill.; devoted daughter-in-law, Tiffany
Jackson of Mobile; with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m., at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in the Rockville
community of Jackson, AL 36545.
