Mrs. Nonie Mae (Mitchell) Robinson, age 84, of Grove Hill, AL, passed peacefully into eternal rest on June 23, 2025.
Born on June 06, 1941 in Grove Hill, AL, she was the youngest daughter of the late Caesor and Della Cox Mitchell. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and became a member of Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church in Grove Hill, AL.
She was wedded in holy matrimony to the late Louis L. Robinson, Jr. on September 5, 1964. She was a homemaker and domestic worker who enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nonie was preceded in death by a daughter: Vanessa Denise Robinson; eight sisters: Sally Mitchell, Catherine Williams, Mamie Mitchell, Gladys Holloway, Mary Adline Chapman, Willie Mae Daniels, Willodean Finch, and Bardee Davis; and three brothers: Willie Lee Mitchell, Sr., Curtis Mitchell, and Ceasor Mitchell, Jr.
A woman of unwavering faith, Nonie lived her life with grace, humility, and strength rooted in her relationship with the Lord. She was a member of First Church of God No. 2, where she served faithfully until her health declined. Whether through her warm smile, her comforting prayers, or her steady presence, she touched the lives of all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one loving daughter: Angela Y. Peterson; three adoring granddaughters: Tiffany N. Robinson (Webster Thomas), Trinity D. Peterson, and Kyleigh S. Peterson; one dear brother: Jamie Mitchell; a devoted Godson: Otto (Keo) Chapman; devoted great nieces: Queenie Peoples and Coretta Littlejohn; a dedicated nephew: JD Chapman; and cherished best friends: Josephine Johnson, Sharon Carlton, Earline Gray, and Estine Harris, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends that she loved dearly.
