Ollie Mae Pugh

Ollie Mae Calhoun Pugh, a resident of the Zimco community, answered the Master’s call on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Covenant Care in Mobile. She was born Oct. 28, 1930 to Eartha Chapman and Rivers Calhoun, she was a member of Walter Mission Church in Zimco.

Ollie enjoyed cooking those delicious meals for her family and friends, and playing dominos was one of her favorite pastimes, she would challenge anybody at when it came to playing. 

Preceding her in death were her parents , Eartha Chapman Howze and Rivers Calhoun ; husband, Johnnie Pugh Sr.; daughters, Marie Pugh, Betty Jean James, Dorothy Jean Pugh and Sandra Ann Dunigan; son, Johnnie Pugh Jr.; sisters, Annie Mae Jones and Bertha Baldwin Moore; brother, Thomas Earl Chapman.

Left to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Eartha LaShay (Joshua) Welch of Thomasville; four sons, Jerry (Bernice) Pugh of Zimco, Larry Jean Pugh of Birmingham, Dennis (Roselyn) Pugh Sr. of Whatley and Randy Pugh of Montgomery; two sisters, Ruby Gray (Floyd) Hunter of Pine Hill and Virginia Todd of Zimco; brother, John Bumpers of Long Beach, CA ,30 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Thursday, June 24, from 2 until 5 p.m., in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 25, 11 a.m., at Walter Mission Cemetery, 1082 Zimco Rd., Grove Hill.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
