Raymond Gordon

Raymond Gordon , age  82 ,  a resident of Manila , was born January  3, 1941 to the parentage of the late Robert Peter Gordon Sr. and Ellen Brown Gordon. Raymond departed this life on September 11, 2023  , at The Retreat by Saad Hospice in Mobile, AL.

In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Gordon Jr. ; three sisters, Barbara Hunt , Bessie Finch , and Nettie Williams; five brothers, Alvin Gordon, John Douglas Gordon, Robert Gordon Jr. , Joe Mitchell, and Grady Gordon.

At an early age , he united with St, Matthew Baptist Church in Manila, where he remained a member until his death. JC worked in the logging industry as a sawman for more than fifty years, until retirement. Raymond had a love for music and his guitar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing , and farming in his fields , raising fresh vegetables for the community.

Raymond will be cherished in the hearts of his devoted family including companion , Barbara Gordon, two daughters , Nola ( Donald )Thomas  of Houston, TX and Shartorria Hunt of Manila, AL , three sons, Xavier (Tresheena ) Gordon of Dallas , TX, Demetrius Hunt , and Tamarkus Hunt both of Manila , AL , two sisters, Louida Hannon of Manila , AL and Gracie ( James ) Soleyn of Mobile, AL, brother- in - law, Ocie ( Gladys) Hunt of Mobile, AL , sister- in - law, Millie Hunt of Gainestown, AL, seven grandchildren , a host of nieces, one devoted , Marqueta Roper, nephews, two devoted, Grady Gordon and Michael Kidd, along with a host of cousins , other relatives, friends, and extended family including Mr. Willis ( Jody) Fox and family.
