Rev. Jerden Hill, Sr., a life-long resident of the Allen community of Grove Hill, traded time for eternity on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, while at the William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette. He was born on May 25, 1930, to Susanna Hill and Henry Hill Sr. Early in life, Jerden united with the St. Peter Baptist Church in the Allen community as a child, where he was a faithful member and served as an associate minister. He also served as an associated minister at Friendship Baptist Church in Leroy and in the 1st District of the Bethel Association as the minister who visits churches in the district. Rev. Hill was a graduate of Wilson Hall in Grove Hill and furthered his education at Alabama State University and Hobson State Technical College in Thomasville, receiving degrees from both colleges. As a minister, he enjoyed sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev. Hill was a retired educator having served as a teacher, principal and coach. He was also a barber, boxer and brick mason. Reverend Hill served his country in the United States Army as a 2nd Class Private. He received several awards: National Defense Service Medal, Japan Occupation Metal, Korean Service Metal and was a Korean War Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hill Sr. and Susanna Hill. his wife Bernice Hill; daughter, Debra Hill; and so, n, Jerden Hill Jr. and his fifteen siblings.
He leaves to cherish his and precious memories, his daughters, Brenda Norman and Carolyn Hill of Pensacola, FL, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. other relatives and friends.
