Robert Edward Hill was born on Dec. 16, 1934 to Mr. Josh Hill and Mrs. Lou Ella Olds Hill of Whatley. The Lord called him home Aug. 12, 2024. Mr. Hill was a member of First Baptist Church of Whatley, where he served as a choir president of the adult church and a member of the trustee board; he remained a faithful member until his health declined.
Robert worked at Harrigan's Lumber Company in Monroeville until his retirement. He was also a member and one of the lead singers of a quartet group that he and other family members and friends started.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Truman Pendleton and Tom Hill; four sisters, Maggie Dickinson, Etta Ree Pendleton, Eunice Rodgers and Lee Dorthy Rather; and grandson, Timothy "Tim" Barnett.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 50 years, Irene Barnett Hill; two sons, Adrain Barnett and Warren Hunt; four daughters, Katherine Dumas, Amanda Gail ( Quinton) Bracy, Margaret Lou Hill and Linda Sue Williams; two sisters, Bertha Ezell and Evon Chapman; one brother, Albert (Helen) Hill; seven grandchildren, Ricky A. Pugh Jr., Olivia S. Pugh, Quinton M. Bracy, Jayden J. Bracy, Kendrick (Charity) Hill, David J. Williams and Chaise A. Bouler; seven great-grandchildren, Adrianna S. Barnett, Amelia A. Barnett, Kaiden I. McQuiter, Aubrey Hill, Deontae T. James, Raelyn A. Pugh and Rilyn A. Pugh; four sisters- in- law, MillerDean Tarvin, Ella McClain, Cara Lee Robinson and Laura ( Willie) Young; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
