Robert Lee Jackson Sr. answered the Master’s call Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born Jan. 19, 1952 to Champion Jackson Sr. and Anna Mae Jackson. Early in life, he united with Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in the Rockville community. Later in life, he united with Amazing Deliverance Church in Thomasville, under the leadership of Pastor Georgia Jackson. He served faithfully as a deacon and on the Trustee Board.
Robert graduated from Jackson High School in the Class of 1972. Robert was affectionately known as “Melvin.” Employed by Ratcliff Material for more than 15 years, he retired from Perdido Trucking. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Roll Tide! Melvin was a very outgoing person who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Champion Jackson Sr. and Anna Mae Jackson; and his beloved son, Reggie D. Jackson.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted wife, Adell Jackson; children, Sherry Stan Pritchett, Cantina Jackson, Robert (Shirley) Jackson Jr., Kenneth (Shakmea) Jackson and Barbara Campbell; his siblings, Shirley Bush, Vicki (Clint) Brown, Mary A.
