Robert Woodard, a native of Frankville and a resident of Eight Mile, made his earthly transition on July 8, 2024 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 6, 1946 to MealliaHowell Woodard and King Isaac Woodard. Early in life Robert united with Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Frankville. He united in marriage to Jessie Woodard, to this union five children were born.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, dancing and playing dominoes with Busty, Tim and George.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Shawn Woodard and Joseph Woodard; siblings, Christine Woodard, Betty Ann Woodard, Ella Lee Woodard, Isaac Woodard, Willie Woodard, Johnny Woodard and Tommy James Woodard.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Debra Widlund, Derrell Woodard, Robert Woodard, Anita (Marvin) Williams, Robert (Raenelle) Shields, Fatima Shields and Ron Shields; siblings, Hattie Woodard, Annie Woodard, John Henry Woodard, Arthur Henry (Edna) Woodard, Billie Merida, Charles Whittley, Annie Lee Merida and Ida Mae (Robert) Mitchell; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a special friend and caregiver, Marilyn Keon of Eight Mile,with other relatives and friends.
