Rosie W. Pritchett, affectionately known as “Sista,” was born Dec. 4, 1936, to the late Arvie Whitaker and Bill Washington Sr. Rosie confessed Christ at an early age where she was a member of Antioch AME Church. Rosie passed from life to eternity on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at her home.
Rosie loved playing dominos and enjoyed spending time sitting on the porch with her family and friends. Well known by everyone as a mother-like figure, Auntie, Grandmy, Grandma and Granny of the entire community.
Rosie was a homemaker and served as treasurer of the Usher Board at Antioch AME for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, A.S. and Bill Washington Jr.; two children, Mary “Liz” Mack and Marvin Pritchett Sr.; grandson, Adrian “Bom”Pritchett; daughter-in-law, Juanita Pritchett; and son-in-law, Clyde Mack Jr.
Rosie leaves to cherish her sweet, beautiful memories, three devoted daughters, Ardell (John) Hunt, Alice (Amos) Jackson and Carolyn Pritchett, all of Gainestown; one sister, Mary Williams of Bronx, N.Y.; 12 devoted grandchildren, 18 cherished great-grandchildren and four beautiful great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Theodore (Mary Ann) Pritchett and Cleon Pritchett; with a host of family, friends, relatives and numerous bonus children that she considered her own.
