Shirley Ann Rivers Bowe, affectionately known to family and friends as "Boop Bowe," a life-long resident of the Manila community of Jackson, answered the Master's call on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, while at Jackson Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on September 26, 1967 to Ethel Taylor Rivers and Eldred Rivers. Shirley was a caring and loving lady who greeted everyone with a smile and opened arms. Shirley was a member of the Jackson High School Class of 1985. She was a member of Antioch AME church where she served in the Callie - Harris Women Missionary Society, she also was a active member of the Alma Volunteer Fire Department where she served as the secretary. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her and watching football. She was preceded in death by her parents; Eldred and Ethel Rivers and her niece, Shana Whittaker.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Talmadge (Quotasha) Rivers and LeDarrius (Alexis) Bowe; daughters, Encia Bowe and Rakyhia Bowe; three brothers, Karl Rivers, James (Theresa) Rivers and Leroy (Jessie) Rivers; two sisters, Carolyn (Authur) Jackson and Ethel (Elvin) Whittaker; devoted friends, Jackie Washington and Benny Jackson Jr.; with eight grandchildren and a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
