Strother Dortch Jr.

Strother Dortch Jr., better known as “Junior” to his family and friends, a resident of the Vredenburgh community, traded this earthly life for eternity in the early morning of Tuesday, June 23, 2020 while at USA Medical Center in Mobile. Junior was born July 7, 1985 to Strother Dortch Sr. and Thelma Dortch; he was 34 years of age. He was graduate of  J.F. Shields High Schoo class of 2005, where he also played football. In May of 2007, he graduated from Reid State Technical College with a Welding Certificate. 

Junior was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, grilling, fishing and spending time with his beloved family and friends. He had a great passion for helping others in need, regardless of the situation. That was just the kind of caring person he was. 

Preceding him in death were his father; grandparents, Alma and John Primm, Laura Freeman and Porter Hobbs; and several aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his loving memories, his devoted and caring mother, Thelma Dortch of Vredenburgh; his loving siblings, Richard Dortch of Pensacola, Fla., Florence, Tara and Santanna Dortch, all of Vredenburgh; his loving nephews, Wendell Dortch and Jaylen Knight, both of Vredenburgh, and Jabari Gamble of Colorado Springs, Colo.; loving nieces, Marquetta Dortch and Kaylen Knight, both of Vredenburgh, and Wendy Carmichael of Monroeville; four great-nieces, Namayia Dortch, Reagan Dortch, Karrington Hunter and Aveah Ari Gamble; one great-nephew, Kameron Hunter; two aunts, Mary Louise Primm of Avon, N.Y. and Nedopha Sally Hobbs of Pensacola, Fla.; with a host of loving cousins and friends.
