West Ola (Murphy) Patterson

West Ola Murphy-Patterson was born Oct. 12, 1943 in Barlow Bend to Octavia and William Murphy. She passed from this life Dec. 13, 2021. 

Raised in Mobile, she spent her adult life between Alabama and Oklahoma. In 2019, she finally settled in Oklahoma City with loved ones. Ms. West spent years as a seamstress. She was also a faithful servant of God and her church. 

Ms. West is preceded in death by her parents; children, Felicia Murphy and Willie Murphy; grandchildren, Felicia Murphy and Derrick Anderson; her siblings, Willie Dale Ely, Annie Bell Stanley, Kathrine Murphy, Gussie Murphy, David Murphy, Charline Murphy, Ervin Murphy, Jessie Murphy, Lankford Murphy, John Wesly Murphy, Clayton Murphy, William Murphy and HB Murphy. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Veronica Murphy, Fred Patterson III, Tamecia Browning, Dexter Browning and Robert Lee Stanley; grandchildren, Cedric (BreeAunna) Murphy, Ciara Murphy and Maurice Patterson; great-grandchildren, Cedric Murphy Jr. and Aunna Murphy; four brothers, Henry (Lajun) Murphy, Tommy Lee (Mary) Murphy, Leonard (Joyce) Murphy and James Lee Murphy; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
