Willie James Thornton Bumpers was born June 10, 1958 to the late Ella Bumpers and Johnny Thornton. He departed this earthly life, Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Bill grew up in Coffeeville, AL and united with the Union Baptist Church No. 1 where he remained a member.
Bill attended Coffeeville High School where he was a graduate of the Class of 1978 where he played sports football was his favorite. After high he went into the work force. Bill was employed with Powell Logging, where he worked for thirty-five years.
Bill met and married the love of his life, Tammy Agee Thornton Bumpers on July 2, 1992. They were blessed to be share thirty-five years. Bill had a great love for kids, he enjoyed hunting, football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Bumpers and Johnny Thornton; sisters: Lonnie Mae (OJ) Johnson and Gracie Ann Chapman; brother, Johnny Bumpers; and one granddaughter, Khadejah Wiggins.
Bill leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of thirty-five years, Tammy Agee Thornton Bumper; three stepchildren: Katrina Agee, Christie Agee and Kirksey (Natay) Agee; two devoted grandchildren: Zakeyha Wilson and Osiris Christian Gomez, Jr.; three sisters: Carolyn Thigpen, Barbara Murphy and Christine Bumpers; two brothers: Williams (Susan) Bumpers and Randy Bumpers; one devoted brother-in-law, Clifford Chapman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
