Zachieous Cameron “Cam Cam” “Zach” Stephens was born in Mobile to the parentage of Jessica Stephens and Carey Clemons on July 4, 2003. He was called home on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2022. Zach confessed Christ at an early age and united with the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Carlton. The same church home where he used his God-given talent of playing drums for the choir. He continued using his talents when transferring his membership to Amazing Grace Deliverance Church in Thomasville.
Cam played football for Jackson Aggies in middle school, as well as baseball for the Dixie League for several years. He also played basketball at Jackson High School for a short period. Cam was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
He was preceded in death by his loving father and grandfather Jimmie “Too Tall” Clemons.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted mother and father, Jessica and Greg Strait; five sisters, Cay’Reese Clemons of Grove Hill, Z’Miah Strait of Jackson, Porchea Lacorchea and Natorchea Strait both of Butler; two brothers, Zion H. and Z'Morian M. Stephens, both of Jackson; uncles, Calvin (Shaneris) Stephens of Chula Vista, Calif., Jimmie Clemons Jr. and Warren Pearson, both of Jackson; maternal grandmother, Lisa Peoples and paternal grandmother, Patricia Clemons, both of Jackson; great-grandmother, Carrie Clemons of Jackson; with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, including devoted aunt, Sharon Davis and cousin, Keijuan Pearson.
